Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary as a fulfillment of the Old Testament's Messianic prophecy. The Bible contains two accounts which describe the events surrounding Jesus' birth. Depending on one's perspective, these accounts either differ from each other or tell two versions of the same story.
1) LOOK OUT FOR SANTA
You can create a Santa viewer for your kids and friends to search for Santa on the special Christmas Eve. Telescopes for the occasion can be made by decorating an existing telescope with empty paper towel or toilet paper rolls. A bit of red paint, glitter and even cotton wool will make a great viewer for spotting Santa and his sleigh through the sky on Christmas Eve.
2) CHRISTMAS STORY
The Christmas story session gives a biblical account of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a fun way to educate children and stories can be downloaded over the internet. Christmas stories are usually paraphrased from the New Testament books of Matthew and Luke in the Bible. Many do this after baths and before hanging the stockings to create a wonderfully calm end to the day.
3) SING CHRISTMAS CAROLS
Singing carols can be a lot of fun specially when the kids don’t quite get the words right! The Wiggles or Hi-5. There’s no better way to get in the festive mood than with some Christmas carols. Put some recorded songs on the stereo and gather the family for a sing along.
4) SNACK FOR SANTA AND FOOD FOR THE REINDEER
You’ve already baked some goodies for Santa, but what about the reindeer. You can give your kids to sprinkle little packets of reindeer dust on the doorstep or garden path to light the way for Rudolph and his friends. Create some reindeer food by combining rolled oats and glitter. The glitter helps the reindeer spot the food from far away, ensuring your house will not be missed on Santa’s rounds on Christmas Eve.
5) WRAPPING THE PRESENTS
This is the part of Christmas that we love the most. Everybody loves to receive gifts, wrap your gifts and place it under the tree and wait for that moment. While gifting try to put in a lot of goodies to surprise your children.
6) LETTERS TO SANTA
Every child loves to write their letters to Santa. Santa is happy to receive your cards and letters, write them up and sleep over it, surprises will be on your footsteps the other day..
7) HANGING CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS
Hanging your own stockings on Christmas Eve can be an exciting experience. Stockings hung on Christmas Eve means that Santa will be here very soon. What you need is just a hook, string or something heavy to anchor the Christmas stocking in place.
8) CANDLES AND SCENTS
Make your home smell like Christmas to add to the festive mood. You can add that aroma by using different products which are available in the market, candles do make the place look pleasant at night.
9) BAKE CHRISTMAS GOODIES
Bake some nice preparations to boost up the festive food. Cookies, Cakes, Rum Balls and other preparations will definitely help in bringing some fun as well as smile on your children's face.
